Bobbleheads...?
...not from us, no. We have received numerous e-mails asking
if we were going to make bobble heads of our other"Tooned-Up"
characters as we did for "I Dream of Jeannie" and "Bewitched".
We did NOT in fact make bobble heads, nodders, bobbers, knockers, noddlers
or whatever other name they are called of the aforementioned shows. The
company who produced these particular "knockers" felt comfortable
enough stealing our ORIGINAL designs for their use. We knew getting
into this business that these kind of things would happen. Even if we didn't
make a dime,we wanted to do original ideas and while maybe not setting
the collectibles industry on fire, create a unique niche nonetheless.
How many companies are now doing mini busts... or bobble heads... or Kubrick
style "Lego" figures... while not giving credit to the company that
popularized the format. I'm slowly realizing that as long as there are original
ideas, there will be someone waiting in the wings to take advantage of it.
In the end we take a slight bit of comfort in the fact that the "bobbles"
in question are inferior in quality and poorly produced. So please make no
mistake Electric Tiki is not in the bobble head business, and if for some
unforeseen reason we decide to get into the knocker or bobber business, we
will at least strive to be unique. So, if you see these "I Dream of Jeannie"
and "Bewitched"bobble-knocker-wobbly heads, please understand that
even though the designs have been plagiarized they have not been authorized,
nor endorsed by Electric Tiki.
Thanks for listening to my rant.
